Job summary

No deviation is seeking an experienced Utilities Engineer to support engineering and operational activities for critical utility systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment in Singapore. You will oversee operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of GMP-rated utilities.

Key responsibilities include leading Change Control for equipment modifications, coordinating installation and handover, and providing technical guidance to Operations and Maintenance

Qualifications

• 4–10 years of relevant engineering experience in pharma/biotech/GMP manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with critical utility systems: Chillers, Boilers, WFI and Clean Steam.
• Strong knowledge of operation and maintenance of utility equipment.
• Experience with Change Control for engineering projects and equipment modifications.

Responsibilities

• Support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of critical utility systems.
• Lead Change Control activities for installation, modification or upgrade of utility equipment.
• Coordinate engineering activities for new utility equipment and handover to operations.
• Perform root cause analysis for equipment failures and performance problems.
• Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams on utility issues.
• Review equipment performance and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
• Support engineering documentation, risk assessments and other project activities.
• Ensure activities comply with GMP, EHS and site requirements.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Utilities Engineer to support ongoing engineering and operational activities for critical utility systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of critical utility systems, including:ChillersBoilersWater for Injection (WFI)Clean SteamOther GMP / critical utility systems
• Lead and manage Change Control activities related to the installation, modification or upgrade of utility equipment and systems.
• Coordinate engineering activities for new utility equipment, including implementation, commissioning and handover to operations.
• Perform in-depth troubleshooting and root cause investigation for equipment failures, recurring issues and utility system performance problems.
• Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams on utility equipment and system-related issues.
• Review equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability, maintainability and operational efficiency.
• Support engineering documentation, technical assessments, risk assessments and other project-related activities as required.
• Ensure engineering activities are performed in accordance with applicable GMP, EHS and site requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 4–10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or GMP manufacturing industry.
• Strong hands‑on experience with critical utility systems such as Chillers, Boilers, WFI and Clean Steam.
• Good understanding of the operation and maintenance of utility equipment.
• Experience managing or supporting Change Controlfor engineering projects and equipment modifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex equipment or operational issues.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality and project stakeholders.
• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
