Job summary

Allegis Group Singapore Pte Ltd seeks a detail-oriented Utilities Engineer to support the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of pharmaceutical utility systems in a GMP manufacturing environment. You will oversee chiller, boiler, RO, PW, clean steam, compressed air and other critical facilities services to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of utilities engineering experience in pharma/manufacturing.
• Experience with change controls for chiller/boilers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of utility systems supporting GMP manufacturing.
• Lead troubleshooting for utility-related issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Support validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ for utility equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with QA, Manufacturing and Facilities to ensure continuous utility support.
• Manage contractors and vendors for upgrades, repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor system performance and drive energy efficiency improvements.
• Maintain documentation including SOPs, logs and change controls.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Utilities Engineer to support the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of utility systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role ensures that critical systems—such as chiller, boiler, RO, purified water, clean steam, compressed air, and other facility utilities—meet stringent regulatory and operational standards.

The Position:

• Oversea the operation and maintenance of utility systems supporting GMP manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards (e.g., cGMP, FDA, EMA) and internal quality protocols.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for utility-related issues.
• Support validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ for utility equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Manufacturing, Facilities) to ensure seamless utility support.
• Manage contractors and vendors for utility system upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor system performance and implement energy efficiency and reliability improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation including SOPs, maintenance logs, and change control records.

The Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in utilities engineering within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience in change controls for activities involving chiller and boilers, etc.
• Knowledge of clean utility systems (WFI, PW, RO, clean steam, etc.).
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and validation practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of sustainability and energy conservation initiatives.
• Certification in GMP or pharmaceutical engineering is a plus.
