Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for RO, WFI, clean utilities and other critical/clean utility systems.
• Manage engineering change controls for utility installations, modifications, upgrades, and system improvements.
• Oversee the reliability, performance, maintenance, and operational condition of critical utility equipment.
• Lead investigations involving utility deviations, equipment issues, and system events using TrackWise.
• Conduct structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to identify underlying causes of failures.
• Coordinate across functions to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure investigation outcomes, action items, and technical documentation are completed on time.
• Support utility projects from concept through planning, execution and implementation.
• Review technical requirements to ensure alignment with GMP standards and site needs.

Own the Performance of Critical GMP Utility Systems

Are you an experienced engineer with strong technical knowledge of Reverse Osmosis (RO), Water for Injection (WFI), clean steam, and other critical utilities? We are seeking a Critical Utilities Engineer to support the reliability, compliance, and performance of essential utility systems within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. In this role, you will provide technical leadership across utility operations, troubleshooting, investigations, change management, and engineering improvement projects.

Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other stakeholders, you will help maintain critical utility systems in a reliable and controlled state while supporting ongoing site improvements and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support and oversight for RO, WFI, clean steam, and other critical/clean utility systems.
• Manage engineering change controls associated with utility installations, modifications, upgrades, and system improvements.
• Oversee the reliability, performance, maintenance, and operational condition of critical utility equipment.
• Lead and support investigations involving utility deviations, equipment issues, and system events using TrackWise.
• Conduct structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to determine the underlying causes of equipment or system failures.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure investigation outcomes, action items, and technical documentation are completed accurately and within the required timelines.
• Support utility engineering projects from concept and planning through execution and implementation.
• Review technical requirements and ensure engineering activities are aligned with applicable GMP standards and site requirements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance utility reliability, efficiency, capacity, system performance, and compliance.
• Monitor critical utility systems and help ensure they remain within an appropriate state of control.
• Provide technical input to engineering standards, maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline, or higher.
• Approximately 4-10 years of relevant engineering experience in utilities, facilities, manufacturing, or a comparable technical environment.
• Hands-on experience with Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems is essential.
• Working knowledge of WFI, clean steam, and other critical or clean utility systems.
• Strong understanding of utility equipment operation, maintenance, reliability, and technical troubleshooting.
• Previous experience within a GMP-regulated environment is essential; direct pharmaceutical experience is not a requirement.
• Strong capabilities in technical investigation, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, and deviation management.
• Experience handling engineering change controls and managing technical projects independently.
• Able to coordinate multiple engineering activities while maintaining priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other functions.
