Job summary

TEKsystems Global Services, LLC is seeking a Utilities Engineer to oversee operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of GMP-regulated utility systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting. You will support chiller, boiler, RO, purified water, clean steam, and compressed air systems to meet regulatory and operational standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 3+ years in utilities engineering, experience with change controls, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of utilities engineering experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing.
• Experience with change controls for chillers, boilers, and related systems.
• Knowledge of clean utility systems (WFI, PW, RO, clean steam, etc.).
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and validation practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of utility systems supporting GMP manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards (cGMP, FDA, EMA) and internal quality protocols.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for utility-related issues.
• Support IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities for utility equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with QA, Manufacturing, and Facilities to ensure seamless utility support.
• Manage contractors and vendors for system upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor system performance and pursue energy efficiency and reliability improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation including SOPs, maintenance logs, and change controls.

This role ensures that critical systems—such as chiller, boiler, RO, purified water, clean steam, compressed air, and other facility utilities—meet stringent regulatory and operational standards.

The Position:

• Oversea the operation and maintenance of utility systems supporting GMP manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards (e.g., cGMP, FDA, EMA) and internal quality protocols.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for utility-related issues.
• Support validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ for utility equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, Manufacturing, Facilities) to ensure seamless utility support.
• Manage contractors and vendors for utility system upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor system performance and implement energy efficiency and reliability improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation including SOPs, maintenance logs, and change control records.

The Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in utilities engineering within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience in change controls for activities involving chiller and boilers, etc.
• Knowledge of clean utility systems (WFI, PW, RO, clean steam, etc.).
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and validation practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of sustainability and energy conservation initiatives.
• Certification in GMP or pharmaceutical engineering is a plus.
