Job summary

AGP EMPLOYMENT AGENCY & CONSULTANCY PTE. LTD. seeks a Full-Time UTG Technician with strong hull thickness measurement expertise for vessel inspections under BV, ABS, DNV and LR rules.

You will lead inspectors, liaise with clients and class surveyors, and deliver daily reports while ensuring compliance with class requirements and client specifications. Shipyard environments and dry-dock periods are integral to this role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in UTG / Hull Thickness Measurement and Gauging.
• Experience with BV, ABS, DNV, and LR class societies.
• Ability to lead thickness measurement inspectors and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of ship structures, renewals, and dry-docking repairs.

Full-Time UTG Technician – Hull Thickness Measurement / Gauging

We are looking for a full-time UTG Professional with strong experience in Hull Thickness Measurement / Gauging for vessels under various classification societies, including BV, ABS, DNV, and LR.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and lead inspectors in hull thickness measurements in accordance with relevant class rules and requirements.
• Liaise with clients and class surveyors regarding thickness readings and inspection findings on a daily basis.
• Prepare and submit daily inspection reports and compile accurate final thickness measurement reports.
• Mark locations requiring steel renewal based on inspection findings and survey requirements.
• Monitor steel repairs and renewals during dry-docking and surveys.
• Provide quick and accurate steel quantity estimations on a daily basis.
• Prepare and submit daily progress reports.

• Ensure all inspection activities and documentation comply with applicable class requirements and client specifications.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience in UTG / Hull Thickness Measurement and Gauging.
• Experience working with classification societies such as BV, ABS, DNV, and LR.
• Ability to lead and supervise thickness measurement inspectors.
• Good understanding of ship structures, steel renewals, and dry-docking repairs.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with clients, shipyards, and class surveyors.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and produce accurate reports.
• Willingness to work in shipyards and dry-dock environments as required.
