Job summary

PaxOcean in Singapore is seeking a detail design engineer specializing in hull outfitting to deliver compliant drawings and specifications within the project schedule.

You will lead the design effort, review external designer outputs, liaise with owners and the classification society, and produce weight reports while coordinating with production and on-site teams to ensure safe, accurate outfitting solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture.
• Experience in hull outfitting detail design.
• Familiar with AutoCAD/AVEVA/Cadmatic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver project design drawings and documents per plan; assume project lead.
• Review external designer specs and ensure detail design readiness.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for compliance and approval.
• Prepare arrangement & detail outfitting drawings.
• Develop and update weight report (weight and CG).
• Coordinate with detail designer / production designer and verify outputs.
• Communicate with production on troubleshooting and on-site visits.
• Safety and architectural outfitting coverage is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivering the respective project design drawing and document according to project plan schedule. Shall take on project lead role.
• Review external designer's pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement and drawing lists. Ensure all information required for detail design development is available.
• Liaise with Owner and Classification Society for the specific design requirement compliance, review, and approval.
• Create the hull outfitting equipment sourcing technical specifications for cranes, deck machinery, outfitting, etc.
• Conduct a technical assessment of the offer made by the seller.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors for interpretation of the drawings and specifications.
• Prepare arrangement & detail outfitting drawings.
• Develop and update weight report (weight and center of gravity).
• Coordinates with detail designer / production designer and checks their processes and output.
• Communicate with the person in charge of production on trouble shooting and visiting on-site if needed.
• Safety and architectural outfitting coverage is an advantage.

Key Requirements

• Familiar with AutoCAD/ Microsoft Office/ AVEVA/ Cadmatic or simillar.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
