Job summary

Synapxe is seeking a motivated Uni Intern to join our Cloud Platform Engineering team from Jan to July 2027. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to backend services and automation in a health-tech context.

You will develop REST APIs with Python using FastAPI or Django, model PostgreSQL data, build Celery-based asynchronous workflows, and participate in containerized deployments with Docker/OpenShift. This role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and impact.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate pursuing a degree in a related field.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with Django or FastAPI.
• Basic REST API design and development.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and ORM concepts.
• Basic understanding of asynchronous programming and task queues.
• Familiarity with Docker; OpenShift is a plus.
• Independent, fast learner and good team player.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.
• Implement asynchronous workflows and background processing, including Celery and message brokers (Redis, RabbitMQ).
• Design and manage database structures, including working with PostgreSQL for data modelling and query optimization.
• Build integration connectors to internal and external systems via APIs.
• Support monitoring, logging, and error handling, including retry logic and improving reliability.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure service quality and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support end-to-end feature delivery.
• Contribute to CI/CD and deployment processes, including Docker/OpenShift.

We are looking for intern(s) to join our Cloud Platform Engineering team to support the development of backend services and automation workflows using Python, contributing to scalable cloud platform features and system integrations.

The selected intern(s) will assist in following:

• Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI or Django
• Implement asynchronous workflows and background processing, including task queues using Celery and message brokers (e.g. Redis, RabbitMQ)
• Design and manage database structures, including working with PostgreSQL for data modelling and query optimization
• Build integration connectors to internal and external systems via APIs
• Support monitoring, logging, and error handling, including implementing retry logic and improving system reliability
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure service quality and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. frontend engineers, DevOps) to support end-to-end feature delivery
• Contribute to CI/CD and deployment processes, including working with containerized environments (e.g. Docker, OpenShift)

About You:

• Undergraduate currently in Year 2 or Year 3, pursuing a degree in Business Artificial Intelligence Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Information Engineering & Media, or a related discipline
  
• Proficiency in Python programming language
  
• Familiarity with web frameworks such as Django or FastAPI
  
• Basic understanding of REST API design and development
  
• Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and ORM concepts
  
• Basic understanding of asynchronous programming and task queues (e.g. Celery)
  
• Familiarity with container technologies (e.g. Docker) is a plus
  
• Independent, fast-learner, and self-driven
  
• Good team player with strong analytical and communication skills
  
• Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
