Job summary

Synapxe invites motivated undergraduates to join as interns in the SmartCMS Programme, gaining hands-on exposure to healthcare tech integration and national initiatives in Singapore.

You will support SDLC activities, API development, and agile delivery, while collaborating with business users and technical teams to translate needs into practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business AI Systems, Information Systems, CS, CE, or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Interest in IT project management and delivering IT projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in SDLC support, testing, and requirements gathering.
• Develop, test, and debug RESTful and SOAP APIs for SmartCMS modules.
• Configure API gateway policies and monitor performance.

The SmartCMS Programme is a national initiative that enables Clinic Management System (CMS) providers to integrate with Singapore’s public healthcare ecosystem. It supports seamless information exchange between clinics and public healthcare systems, improving productivity, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing patient experience across the primary care sector. Interns will be part of the SmartCMS team supporting key national initiatives such as Healthier SG and Age Well SG, gaining exposure to real-world healthcare systems integration and digital transformation efforts.

The Selected Intern(s) Will Assist In Following

• SDLC Support & Testing
• Participate in requirements gathering, use case definition, and technical specification drafting
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Assist in preparing deliverables such as:
• Test plans
• User stories
• Bug reports
• Requirement Traceability Matric (RTM)
• API & Integration Development
• Develop, test, and debug RESTful and SOAP APIs for SmartCMS modules
• Implement data mapping logic (JSON/XML) for system integration
• Support system-to-system communication between CMS providers and public healthcare platforms
• Prepare API documentation and integration samples
• API Gateway Configuration
• Configure API gateway policies (e.g., routing, authentication, throttling)
• Support implementation of API monitoring, analytics, and performance tracking
• Assist in ensuring secure and scalable API access
• Project Coordination & Agile Delivery
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)
• Track development progress and assist in issue resolution
• Maintain sprint boards, meeting notes, and issue trackers
• Stakeholder Engagement & Support
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users
• Translate business needs into technical requirements
• Provide Level 1/2 support for post-implementation issuesCapture user feedback and support continuous improvements
• Technical Documentation
• Maintain up-to-date documentation including:
• System architecture diagrams
• Data flow diagrams
• API/interface specifications
• Standard operating procedures

About You

• Undergraduate currently in Year 2 or Year 3, pursuing a degree in Business Artificial Intelligence Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Information Engineering & Media, or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Have a keen interest in IT Project Management
• Possess strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Adaptable, proactive and a strong team player
• Exhibit leadership qualities with good verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech
