Job summary

5G-Starlink Pte. is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to provide processing and underwriting support across the line of business. You will work closely with underwriters and the service team, including offshore colleagues, to ensure service delivery within specified timeframes.

You will assist with policy administration, document issuance and coordination with brokers for premium closings, while developing strong internal and external working relationships and learning the line of business.

Qualifications

• Diploma holder with insurance/reinsurance exposure.
• Experience in underwriting support, data entry and policy administration.
• Ability to work with internal and offshore teams to meet service timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting operations support, procedures and policy guidance.
• Build relationships with internal and external customers and provide prompt service.
• Complete processes such as MIA mapping, eFiling, ZHorizon updates and sanctions checks.
• Coordinate with offshore team for pre-renewal reports and other tasks.
• Issue policy documents (schedules, wording, endorsements, invoices) with Policy Administration Team.
• Liaise with placement brokers for premium closings and calculations to ensure timely bookings.
• Establish priorities and monitor work in hand to meet turnaround times.
• Assist with facultative reinsurance documentation and coordinate with Finance on payments.
• Cross-train with other Underwriting Assistants for coverage of LoBs.

Job SummaryAs an Underwriting Assistant, you will be required to provide processing and underwriting support to the line of business (LoB). You will get the opportunity to work closely with Underwriters and wider Service team, including offshore teams, to ensure service activities are achieved within service delivery timeframes specified. You will also act as an account representative by responding to service matters and coordinating with the appropriate business partner for resolution.Academic Skills and Professional Experience

• Prior experience working in an insurance/reinsurance company
• Knowledge of line of business
• Experience in underwriting support functions, data entry and policy administration
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships internally

Your main responsibilities will involve:

• Provide support to Underwriters in the areas of underwriting operations, procedures and policies.
• Build strong relationships with and provide prompt customer service to all internal and external customers
• Complete associated business processes such as MIA mapping, eFiling, ZHorizon updates, Sanctions Checks and others
• Liaise with, provide support to and conduct regular quality checks on tasks assigned to and completed by the offshore team including pre-renewal reports, sanctions check and other associated activities
• Responsible for accurate issuance of policy documents including policy schedules, policy wording, endorsements, invoices and certificates of insurance to the broker or
• customer in collaboration with Policy Administration Team
• Liaise with and follow up with placement brokers closely for premium closings / advices / premium calculations to ensure premium bookings are completed in timely manner
• Establish process to effectively monitor work on hand and set priorities so as to complete tasks within turnaround time.
• Complete documents following placement of Facultative Reinsurance, where applicable, and liaise with Finance to ensure that any reinsurance is correct and payments will be made within specified warranties Handle complex work items including investigation of issues and to apply problem solving skills which entails effective collaboration with other departments and colleagues where required to achieve win-win resolutions to identified issues.
• Ready to provide cross-training to fellow Underwriting Assistants for other LoBs to reduce key man dependency as well as to receive cross-training by fellow
• Underwriting Assistants to establish a strong back-up support for the team
