LMA Recruitment Singapore is seeking a driven insurance professional to join the Commercial Underwriting team in Singapore. You will underwrite new and renewal business, support business development, and deliver high-quality underwriting and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include underwriting, pricing, and managing quotes for a diverse portfolio while maintaining profitability and providing professional service to brokers and clients.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in any discipline.
• Experience in commercial general insurance underwriting.
• Mandarin language skills would be advantageous to support Mandarin-speaking clients.
• CGI or equivalent qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, underwrite and price commercial insurance risks.
• Manage new business, renewals and endorsements.
• Prepare quotations, renewal documentation and summaries while proactively managing renewals.
• Provide responsive and professional service to clients, intermediaries and business partners.
• Monitor premium collections to ensure credit control compliance.
• Assist with day-to-day operational and administrative activities to ensure smooth running of the department.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a driven and customer-focused insurance professional to join our client’s Commercial Underwriting team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of commercial risks while working closely with brokers, corporate clients and internal stakeholders to deliver profitable business growth and exceptional customer service.

You will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business, supporting business development initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality underwriting and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, underwrite and price commercial insurance risks in accordance with internal underwriting guidelines and reinsurance arrangements.
• Manage new business, renewals and endorsements while maintaining underwriting discipline and profitability.
• Support the achievement of portfolio growth and profitability targets.
• Prepare quotations, renewal documentation and insurance summaries while proactively managing policy renewals to maximise retention.
• Provide responsive and professional service to clients, intermediaries and business partners, addressing enquiries efficiently.
• Monitor premium collections to ensure compliance with company credit control requirements.
• Prepare policy documentation, certificates, cover notes and monthly management reports.
• Assist with day-to-day operational and administrative activities to ensure the smooth running of the department.
• Participate in business improvement initiatives and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or higher qualification in any discipline.
• Certificate in General Insurance (CGI) or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Experience in commercial general insurance underwriting.
• Good understanding of commercial insurance products and underwriting principles.
• Mandarin language skills would be advantageous to support Mandarin-speaking clients.
