Job summary

Singapore Tourism Board is seeking a Contract Tester to support the redevelopment of Stan, focusing on UAT across the full data pipeline—from ingestion and validation to transformation and dashboard reporting.

You will work with data custodians and product managers to create test scenarios, review vendor test cases, and drive defects to resolution, ensuring data accuracy and quality throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in CS/IT/Statistics/Data Analytics or related field.
• At least 2 years of UAT or software testing experience, preferably in data/analytics.
• Good understanding of data structures and data quality issues (duplicates, missing values, anomalies).
• Familiarity with data pipeline processes: ingestion, validation, transformation, ETL.
• Basic SQL knowledge for querying databases and validating data (preferred).
• Experience with dashboard/BI tools (e.g., AWS QuickSight) is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and vendors.

About the role

STB uses data to support tourism planning and marketing through Stan (Singapore Tourism Analytics Network), a platform that helps both STB staff and tourism industry partners access tourism data and generate insights about Singapore's tourism landscape and visitors. We are looking for a Contract Tester to support the redevelopment of Stan. The role will focus on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across the entire data pipeline, from data ingestion and validation to data transformation and dashboard reporting. This will allow data custodians and product managers to focus on their core responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Work with data custodians and product managers to understand business and data requirements, and convert them into test scenarios and test cases.
• Plan and execute UAT across the end-to-end data pipeline, including: Data ingestion, Data validation, Data transformation, Dashboard and reporting outputs
• Review vendor-provided test cases, identify gaps, and create additional test cases when needed.
• Log, track, and follow up on defects with vendors to ensure timely resolution.
• Verify data accuracy and integrity by identifying issues such as duplicate, missing, or incorrect data.
• Support data cleansing activities and work with vendors to resolve data quality issues.
• Ensure vendor documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in UAT or software testing, preferably within a data or analytics environment.
• Good understanding of data structures and the ability to identify data quality issues such as duplicates, missing values, and anomalies.
• Familiarity with data pipeline processes, including data ingestion, validation, transformation, and ETL.
• Basic SQL knowledge for querying databases and validating data is highly preferred.
• Experience with dashboard or BI tools (e.g., AWS QuickSight) is an advantage.
