Job summary

Saitech International is seeking a Trade Finance Executive to manage Letters of Credit, export documents and trust receipts for a commodities trading business in Singapore. The role requires meticulous document processing, strong communication and the ability to coordinate with banks and suppliers.

The incumbent will oversee LC review, export document preparation, freight loan administration and MIS maintenance, ensuring compliance with UCP600 and incoterms. Mon-Fri in-office at Raffles Place.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field.
• 5–6 years of experience in a similar role within the commodities trading industry.
• In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, UCP600, and incoterms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in document processing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Handling Letters of Credit: Review and process Letters of Credit, ensuring compliance with all relevant terms.
• Verify and validate accuracy of documents required for Letters of Credit transactions.
• Facilitate amendments to Letters of Credit with banks and stakeholders.
• Preparation of Export Documents: Prepare and submit export documents in adherence to LC and contract terms.
• Ensure all documents are complete, accurate, and submitted within timelines.
• Freight Loan Management: Administer freight loans and communication with financial institutions.
• Trust Receipts: Handle trust receipt transactions ensuring compliance.
• Export and Import Letters of Credit Verification: Verify LC to confirm accuracy and adherence to contract terms.
• Negotiation of Shipping Documents: Liaise with banks for negotiation of shipping documents.
• Maintenance of MIS: Maintain accurate records of LC-related transactions.
• Coordination with Buyers and Suppliers: Collaborate to ensure smooth processing of LCs and resolve issues.
• Additional Duties: Undertake other trade finance-related tasks and projects.

Our client is a well known company trading in steel. coal, energy raw materials, agricultural commodities, etc. They have an immediate requirement for a Trade Finance Executive

The incumbent will be responsible for all trade finance operations, ensuring seamless execution of transactions related to Letters of Credit, export documents, freight loans, trust receipts, and other trade finance activities. This role requires a strong understanding of international trade practices, meticulous attention to details, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

1. Handling Letters of Credit:
   • Review and process Letters of Credit, ensuring compliance with all relevant terms.
   • Verify and validate accuracy of documents required for Letters of Credit transactions.
   • Facilitate any necessary amendments to Letters of Credit in collaboration with banks and relevant stakeholders.
2. Preparation of Export Documents:
   • Prepare and submit accurate export documents in adherence to Letters of Credit and contract terms.
   • Ensure all documents are complete, accurate, and submitted within specified timelines.
3. Freight Loan Management:
   • Administer and manage freight loans, including the processing of relevant documentation and communication with financial institutions.

   • Verify export and import Letters of Credit to confirm accuracy and adherence to contractual obligations.
6. Negotiation of Shipping Documents:
   • Liaise with banks for the negotiation of shipping documents.
7. Maintenance of MIS:
   • Maintain accurate records of Letters of Credit- related transactions.
8. Coordination with Buyers and Suppliers:
   • Collaborate with buyers and suppliers to ensure smooth processing of Letters of Credit and resolve any related issues.
9. Additional Duties:
   • Undertake any other trade finance- related tasks and projects assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5-6 years of experience in a similar role within the commodities trading industry
• In- depth knowledge of international trade regulations, UCP600, and incoterms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail- oriented with a high degree of accuracy in document processing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work week : Mon-Fri

Saary : Upto 8K SGD pm (open for discussions). Candidates who have much more experience can be considered for Managerial role.
