Job summary

PERSOL SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Trade Finance Officer to issue and amend Import and Export Letters of Credit, manage collections, and handle related financial instruments.

You will work with international trade documents, processing systems, and ensure compliance with regulations. The role requires 3–5 years in Trade Finance operations within banks or financial institutions, and a degree in Banking/Finance or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Ensure prompt and accurate issuance of Import Letters of Credit and amendments.
• Handle processing of Export Letters of Credit, advising, amendments, and confirmations.
• Manage inward and outward collection processes, as well as settlements.
• Calculate transaction fees and generate billing for customers.
• Process export bill negotiations and settlements, along with Bills Discounting and Forfaiting.
• Follow up on unpaid bills and outstanding fees.
• Make payments to customers as per instructions.
• Report on Trade activities and manage related tasks as required.
• Issue Banker's Guarantees as necessary.
• Assume additional roles as new product lines are introduced.
• Enhance processing efficiency to reduce delivery times to customers.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while following branch policies and regulations.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Ensure prompt and accurate issuance of Import Letters of Credit and amendments.
• Handle processing of Export Letters of Credit, advising, amendments, and confirmations.
• Manage inward and outward collection processes, as well as settlements.
• Calculate transaction fees and generate billing for customers.
• Process export bill negotiations and settlements, along with Bills Discounting and Forfaiting.
• Follow up on unpaid bills and outstanding fees.
• Make payments to customers as per instructions.
• Report on Trade activities and manage related tasks as required.

• Assess market prices of goods to determine if further information is warranted.
• Check Trade Import/Export documents as a primary or secondary checker.
• Verify customer application forms for accuracy and compliance before processing.
• Ensure management approval for transactions requiring bank commitments.
• Credit payments for outstanding items to nostro accounts with appropriate value.
• Scan, file, and settle documents accurately, ensuring no discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with regulations during processing, including Vessel Tracking systems.
• Assume additional roles as new product lines are introduced.
• Enhance processing efficiency to reduce delivery times to customers.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while following branch policies and regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in Trade Finance operations within a bank or financial institution.
• Proficient understanding of Trade Finance products, including Import/Export Letters of Credit, collections, Banker's Guarantees, and associated financial instruments.
• Strong knowledge of international trade documentation and document checking protocols.
• Experience with Trade Finance processing systems such as Eximbills, SWIFT, or other trade operations platforms is preferred.
