Role Description :
Role is a full-time, on-site position based in Singapore. The Telecommunications Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, design, and technical delivery of telecommunications systems for marine, offshore, and industrial projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and vendors, the role ensures solutions are delivered in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform telecommunications system engineering and design activities.
- Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, diagrams and system schematics.
- Develop detailed telecommunications system designs from feasibility and concept stages through FEED and detailed engineering.
- Prepare technical specifications and datasheets for the procurement of telecommunications equipment.
- Evaluate and select suitable telecommunications equipment based on project requirements.
- Prepare equipment lists, bulk material take-offs and bill of materials.
- Provide technical inputs for system reports, weight reports, equipment schedules and installation documentation.
- Prepare functional, fabrication and installation requirements.
- Review and interpret requirements from clients, regulatory authorities and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate telecommunications interfaces with electrical, instrumentation, control, mechanical and other engineering disciplines.
- Support technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews and procurement activities.
- Clarify design and certification requirements with clients, vendors, classification bodies and third‑party authorities.
- Ensure designs comply with project specifications, applicable standards and client requirements.
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning when required.
Preferred Technical Experience :
Candidates should have experience in engineering one or more of the following systems:
- Structured cabling and fibre‑optic networks
- LAN, WAN and data communication systems
- Public Address and General Alarm systems
- CCTV and video surveillance systems
- Access control and security systems
- Telephone, PABX and intercommunication systems
- Master clock and time‑synchronisation systems
- Marine, offshore, oil and gas or industrial telecommunications systems
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience as a Telecommunications Engineer, with strong expertise in fibre‑optic networks and telecommunications systems. Previous experience working at ExxonMobil facilities in Singapore will be highly preferred.
- Experience in feasibility studies, concept design, FEED and detailed engineering.
- Ability to prepare and review drawings, specifications, datasheets, material take-offs and technical reports.
- Familiarity with applicable telecommunications engineering codes and standards.
- Strong coordination, technical communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents are preferred. Candidates who are currently residing in Singapore and hold a valid work pass are also welcome to apply.
