Job summary

YTL PowerSeraya Pte. Limited is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to maintain control and instrumentation systems at the power plant. The role focuses on repairs, calibration, and modernization efforts to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance.

You will support engineers, perform outage work, and supervise contractors while adhering to strict safety standards in an on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Nitec or Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and plant systems.
• 2 years' experience in power plants or oil/gas is preferred.
• Self-driven, good attitude and a strong team player.
• Available for standby after office hours for emergencies.
• Demonstrates safety mindset and workplace safety behavior.
• Be part of the CERT team and respond to emergencies when called.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repair and rectification of equipment failure and malfunction; test and recommissioning of rectified systems or equipment.
• Overhaul, inspect, calibrate, and service during scheduled outages.
• Implement upgrades and installation plans to improve availability and reliability.
• Maintain detailed work reports and spreadsheets using Maximo and MS Office.
• Assist engineers and technical officers in maintenance work.
• Supervise contractors under his charge.

Job Description

As a member of the Control and Instrumentation team, you will be responsible for executing maintenance work on instrumentation and control systems in the power plant effectively, efficiently, and to comply with safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out repair and rectification of equipment failure and malfunction. Test and recommissioning of rectified system or equipment
• Carry out the overhaul, inspection, calibration, servicing program during plant scheduled outage.
• Implement modification, upgrading, and installation plans for plant system and equipment for enhancement, availability, and reliability improvement.
• Maintains detailed work reports, spreadsheets, graphs, plots on computer-based software (Maximo, MS Word, and MS Excel)
• Assist Engineers and Technical Officers in the maintenance work
• Supervise contractors under his charge

Qualifications

• Nitec/Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• Possesses knowledge of Instrumentation
• Preferably possesses 2 years of experience in Power Plant or Oil and Gas industry
• Self-driven, with a good working attitude and a good team player
• Is available on standby after office hours for emergency calls
• Have a safety mindset and display good workplace safety behavior.
• Be a part of the CERT team and be actively involved in emergency responses whenever called upon.
