Job summary

CAMARINE SUPERVISION PTE. LTD. seeks an Instrumentation Technician to install, maintain, test and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems for marine/offshore projects.

You will read instrument drawings and wiring schematics, commission instruments, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety procedures. The role requires hands-on calibration of sensors (pressure, temperature, flow) and experience with PLC, DCS, ESD, PSD, PCS, and F&G systems.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Able to read instrument drawings, loop diagrams, P&IDs, wiring schematics, and electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, instrumentation standards, and safe work practices.
  • Experience in instrument commissioning, loop checking, function testing, and system start-up activities.

  • Strict compliance with yard HSE and safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Requirements:
  • NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as an Instrumentation Technician in the marine, offshore, shipyard, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sector.
  • Hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Able to read and interpret instrument drawings, loop diagrams, P&IDs, wiring schematics, and electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, instrumentation standards, and safe work practices.
  • Experience in instrument commissioning, loop checking, function testing, and system start-up activities.
  • Familiar with PLC, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), Process Shutdown Systems (PSD), Process Control Systems (PCS), and Fire & Gas (F&G) systems.
  • Proficient in the calibration of field instruments, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters using standard calibration equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to safely use instrumentation hand tools, electrical tools, and calibration equipment.
  • Good understanding of HSE requirements and strict compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and yard safety regulations.
  • Willing to work at Tuas Boulevard Yard.
  • Able to commence work on short notice or immediately preferred.
