Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, is seeking an onsite Quality Inspector to perform in-process and final inspections on aircraft components. You will interpret technical drawings, adjust reports, and ensure conformance with specifications.

Two years of inspection experience and a Diploma in Engineering are required. The role involves day and night shifts and compliance with EH&S policies, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final visual and dimensional inspection on aircraft components.
• Inspect components against technical drawings, work instructions and specs.
• Prepare inspection reports accurately.
• Interpret CMM and blue-light inspection reports.
• Understand tolerances, procedures and specifications from manufacturers.
• Participate in audits and inspections as required.
• Adhere to EH&S regulations and safety policies.
• Support continuous improvement and CORE activities.
• Learn new advanced technology and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

• Perform in-process and final visual and dimensional inspection on aircraft components.


• Inspect aircraft components and ensure conformance against the technical drawings, work instructions and specification requirements.


• Prepare Inspection Report.


• Understand and interpret CMM, Blue light inspection reports.


• Understand specifications for inspection tolerances, limitations and procedures established by the manufacturer of the product being inspected.


• Participate in audits and inspections as and when required.


• Demonstrate commitment to safety requirements by complying to EH&S regulations and policies.


• Support the continuous improvement programs and CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) activities.


• Comfortable to learn new advanced technology.


• Carry out any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Diploma in Engineering or relevant disciplines.


• 2 years of relevant quality inspection experience.


• Familiar with various inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment’s, and tools used to determine the quality of airworthiness of a part.


• Proficient in the use of various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids such as Stylus, Vernier Calliper, Shadowgraph, GapGun etc.


• Pass vision exam (Jaeger #1 test chart at not less than 12 inches) and a color blindness test.


• Ability to understand basic technical instructions, drawing and standard operation procedures (SOP).


• Meticulous with an eye for details and adopts a hands-on approach.


• Willing to work on rotating shifts (Day & Night) and overtime on need basis.

Qualifications We Prefer

Relevant aerospace, manufacturing, or precision engineering experience.

Knowledge in CMM, NDT or SAP user experience
