Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Singapore is seeking a skilled technician to support repair, overhaul and refurbishment of compressor and rotating equipment components, with focus on airends and assemblies. Ideal candidate has hands-on experience with screw and centrifugal compressors and other industrial rotating equipment.

You will read mechanical drawings and specs, perform disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, testing, and ensure compliance with OEM standards, quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in compressor repair, overhaul, or rotating equipment maintenance.
• Experience with screw compressor assembly and repair, centrifugal compressor assembly and repair, and rotating equipment maintenance.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, engineering specifications, and assembly procedures.
• Strong knowledge of bearings, clearances, alignment, and mechanical tolerances.
• Experience in the compressor industry is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Support overhaul and refurbishment activities for industrial compressors and related equipment to extend asset life.
• Perform complete disassembly, inspection, overhaul, repair, and reassembly of compressors, including airends.
• Conduct dimensional inspections and condition assessments of critical compressor components.
• Repair and refurbish equipment according to OEM standards and repair procedures.
• Perform bearing replacement, rotor inspection, shaft measurements, and precision assembly.
• Troubleshoot compressor performance and mechanical issues.
• Prepare inspection reports and recommend repair actions.
• Support testing and performance verification after overhaul.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational requirements.
• Support expansion of in-house repair capabilities to reduce outsourcing costs.
