Job summary

Alcon in Singapore is seeking a Technician, QC Labs under the Analytical Team who will perform QC testing for products, raw materials, and in-process materials to ensure compliance with defined specifications.

You will operate and troubleshoot analytical instruments such as GC and HPLC, participate in Kaizen initiatives, maintain laboratory safety and 5S, and support inventory and calibration tasks, with a day shift pattern (3-2-2).

Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemistry, Microbiology or any science with 1–3 years experience.
• NITEC with 3–5 years relevant experience also accepted.
• Experience using analytical lab instruments (GC/HPLC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing per SOP and right first time.
• Review and approve test results and lab records.
• Support Kaizen projects and lab improvements.
• Calibrate and PM lab equipment.
• Maintain 5S and safety in the lab.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Perform testing/task in accordance with established SOP and right first time
• Perform assigned tasks within allocated time
• Review and approve test results and lab records as per requirements and/or specifications
• Support implementation of projects and implement Kaizen
• Comply with lab compliance, safety requirements and maintain 5S
• Perform or assist in basic troubleshooting based on procedures or instructions
• Assist in lab equipment routine activity such as Calibration, PM
• Inform test requestor with the completed test results
• Assist in inventory management. Register the standards/reagents/references in LIMS
• Complete the assigned OJT
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor according to business need

What You’ll Bring to Alcon

• Diploma in Chemistry, Microbiology, or any science discipline with 1 to 3 years or NITEC with 3 to 5 years relevant working experience.
• Training can be provided for those without relevant experience
• Prior experience in using analytical lab instrument e.g. GC/ HPLC
• Able to perform day shift (3-2-2) shift pattern
