Job summary

SIA Engineering Company in Singapore is seeking an IFEC engineer to monitor and maintain Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity availability. You will work with IFEC maintenance providers to ensure timely execution of maintenance and defect rectification, providing technical support as required.

You will meet inbound aircraft with significant IFEC issues, compile summaries, provide updates to management, and coordinate with IFEC Rangers and vendors to drive down defects and improve system

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Experience in airline operations or aircraft maintenance preferred.
• Ability to perform shift work and support aircraft schedules.
• Possess Class 3 Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor IFEC systems availability and coordinate with MROs for timely maintenance.
• Investigate IFEC failures and provide technical support as required.
• Meet inbound aircraft with significant IFEC issues to identify root cause.
• Provide summaries of IFEC issues and updates to management.
• Coordinate tasks to IFEC Rangers and vendors for troubleshooting.
• Audit IFEC maintenance effectiveness and preventive checks.
• Analyze IFEC defects for trends and rising issues.
• Provide recommendations for outage recovery and line station resets.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Monitoring of Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) systems availability status
• Work with IFEC system maintenance providers (MRO) to ensure timely execution of maintenance

and defect rectification, and provide technical support as required.

• Meet & Greet in-bound aircraft with significant IFEC issues to investigate failure cause.
• Provide summary of IFEC issues for follow-up.
• Provide timely updates/reports to management.
• Manage and assign tasks to the IFEC Rangers.

Deliverables

• Providing oversight of IFEC availability.
• Daily monitoring of aircraft IFEC health status.
• Ensure IFEC failure alerts are attended to.
• VVIP sweep check coordination and attend to VVIP feedbacks
• To audit effectiveness of IFEC maintenance execution and preventive checks.
• Analyze IFEC defects for trending and detection of emerging in-service issues.
• Provide inflight/line station reset recommendations for IFEC system outage recovery.
• To drive down IFEC deferred/recurring defects to ensure high IFEC availability.
• Provide front line support to operations & assist in prioritizing defects and planned works.
• Review IFEC defects and work with vendors to provide recommended troubleshooting steps.
• Coordination of aircraft ground time and resources for connectivity antenna replacements
• Interface between IFEC vendors, MROs and aircraft OEMs.

Requirements

• Honours Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in airline operations and/or aircraft maintenance is preferred.
• Perform shift work to support aircraft operational schedule.
• Excellent team player with analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently.
• Possess Class 3 Driving Licence.
