Job summary

Applied Materials South East Asia in Singapore is seeking a Technical Project/Program Manager to lead complex R&D programs advancing next-generation semiconductor and display technologies. Based in Science Park II, moving to Tampines end 2026, the role is full-time with 10% travel and relocation support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years in technical project/program management within semiconductor or high-tech R&D environments.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor and R&D processes and product development lifecycle; PVD and Advanced Packaging experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects across time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional R&D programs from concept through development and deployment.
  • Prepare project plans and drive the project from conception to implementation; participate in strategies, processes, and resources.
  • Manage project schedule and tasks using reports, charts, checklists, and scheduling software.
  • Coordinate resources within the division to meet on-time and within-budget objectives; secure equipment time blocks and requisitions.
  • Drive cost-schedule performance of equipment for internal/external customers and vendors worldwide.
  • Participate in multifunctional design teams to complete projects; communicate technical input to teammates.
  • Interface with the division to define objectives, provide status updates, and prepare for product release.
  • Leverage engineering and business process expertise to support team members on problems.
  • Identify and resolve potential complications and develop solutions.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Project/Program Manager to drive complex R&D programs that enable next-generation semiconductor and display technologies. This role requires strong technical acumen, program management expertise, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions. This role is based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage cross‑functional R&D programs from concept through development and deployment.
  • Prepare project plans and drive the project from conception and planning to implementation. Participate in the development of strategies, processes, and resources.
  • Manage project schedule and task details by utilizing project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software.
  • Coordinate allocated resources from within the Division to achieve on‑time and within-budget performance objectives for the project. Secure equipment time blocks, initiate and manage purchase requisitions.
  • Drive project’s cost‑schedule performance of equipment for internal and external customers and vendors worldwide.
  • Participate in multifunctional design teams comprised of internal, external, and/or matrixed headcount to complete projects. Communicate technical input to team members to achieve project goals.
  • Interface and coordinate within the Division to define project objectives, provide status updates, and prepare for product release and deployment.
  • Leverage engineering and business process expertise to team members on various problem statements/issues.
  • Identify and resolve potential complications within the project and develop solutions for resolution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical field.
  • 8+ years in technical project/program management within semiconductor or high‑tech R&D environments.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor and R&D processes as well as product development lifecycle. PVD and Advanced Packaging process experience will be a plus.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment across different time zones.
