Job summary

Applied Materials in Singapore is seeking a Technical Project/Program Manager to lead complex R&D programs advancing semiconductor and display technologies. The role requires strong technical acumen, program management expertise, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams—based in Singapore.

You will manage cross-functional programs, prepare plans, drive schedules, coordinate resources, and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery while advancing product readiness for deployment and customer

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in technical project/program management within semiconductor or high-tech R&D environments.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor and R&D processes and product lifecycle.
  • PVD and Advanced Packaging experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional R&D programs from concept through deployment.
  • Develop and drive project plans, strategies, processes, and resources.
  • Track schedules and tasks using project management tools and reports.
  • Coordinate resources and procurement to meet schedule and budget.
  • Drive cost, schedule performance, and vendor coordination for equipment.
  • Interface with engineering and business teams to ensure project goals are met.

Role

We are seeking a Technical Project/Program Manager to drive complex R&D programs that enable next-generation semiconductor and display technologies. This role requires strong technical acumen, program management expertise, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions. This role is based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage cross-functional R&D programs from concept through development and deployment.

  • Prepares project plans and drives the project from conception and planning to implementation. Will participate in the development of strategies, processes and resources.

  • Manages project schedule and task details by utilizing project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklist and project scheduling software.

  • Coordinates allocated resources from within the Division to achieve on-time and within budget performance objectives for the project. Secures equipment time blocks, initiates and manages purchase requisitions.

  • Drives project’s cost schedule performance of equipment for internal and external customers and vendors worldwide.

  • Participates in multifunctional design teams comprised of internal, external and/or matrixed headcount to complete projects. Communicates technical input to team members to achieve project goals.

  • Interfaces and coordinates within the Division to define project objectives, provide status updates and prepare for Product release and deployment.

  • Leverages on engineering and business process expertise to team members on various problem statements/ issues.

  • Identifies and resolves potential complications within the project and develops solutions for resolution.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical field.

  • 8+ years in technical project/program management within semiconductor or high-tech R&D environments.

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor and R&D processes as well as product development lifecycle. PVD and Advanced Packaging process experiences will be a plus.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment across different time zones.
