Job summary

Signify is seeking an experienced Technical Project Director to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex lighting control systems and hospitality technology projects. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, lighting controls, building technologies, or major project delivery environments.
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex customer projects with responsibility for technical delivery, commercial performance, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience managing project P&L, contract administration, project governance, and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of customer projects from sales handover through final customer acceptance and operational handover with governance frameworks and risk plans.
  • Provide technical leadership for Dynalite lighting control systems across hospitality and commercial developments and oversee design reviews, commissioning, testing, and handover.
  • Own overall project financial performance, including revenue, cost control, profitability, forecasting, and cash flow management; monitor margins and manage variations and contracts.
  • Act as the senior customer interface throughout the project lifecycle, building relationships with hotel owners, operators, developers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection, scope definition, performance management, and ensure timely delivery with procurement and logistics teams.
  • Ensure compliance with project management processes, governance requirements, and quality standards; drive continuous improvement and share lessons learned.

More about the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Director to lead the delivery of complex customer projects involving advanced lighting control systems and hospitality technology solutions. The role is accountable for the end-to-end execution, technical leadership, commercial management, and governance of major customer projects. This includes ownership of project planning, stakeholder management, technical implementation, financial performance, risk management, customer acceptance, and operational handover. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of accountability throughout the project lifecycle and will work closely with customers, consultants, contractors, hotel operators, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership & Governance Lead the delivery of customer projects from sales handover through final customer acceptance and operational handover. Establish project execution strategies, resource plans, schedules, governance frameworks, and risk management plans. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations. Provide executive-level project reporting to customers and internal stakeholders. Drive proactive issue resolution and ensure timely escalation of critical risks and commercial matters.
  • Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership for the implementation of Dynalite lighting control systems across complex hospitality and commercial developments. Oversee system design reviews, integration planning, commissioning strategies, testing, troubleshooting, and final handover. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and project performance requirements. Support engineering teams in resolving technical challenges and mitigating implementation risks.
  • Commercial & Financial Management Own overall project financial performance, including revenue, cost control, profitability, forecasting, and cash flow management. Monitor project margins and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes. Manage variation orders, claims, contract changes, and commercial negotiations. Ensure accurate project financial reporting and timely project closure in accordance with company processes.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management Act as the senior customer interface throughout the project lifecycle. Build and maintain strong relationships with hotel owners, operators, developers, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders. Ensure clear communication and alignment of expectations across all parties. Support business growth by identifying opportunities for additional services and solutions.
  • Contractor & Supply Chain Management Oversee subcontractor selection, scope definition, performance management, and project execution. Coordinate closely with procurement, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of project resources. Ensure contractors comply with project quality, safety, and performance requirements.
  • Operational Excellence Ensure compliance with company project management processes, governance requirements, and quality standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote best-in-class project management practices. Share lessons learned and contribute to improving project delivery capabilities across the business.
Requirements

Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, lighting controls, building technologies, or major project delivery environments.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading complex customer projects with responsibility for technical delivery, commercial performance, and stakeholder management.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, consultants, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project P&L, contract administration, project governance, and risk management.

Preferred Qualifications PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification. Experience with SAP project and financial management processes. Experience managing regional or multi-country project portfolios. Understanding of contractual frameworks commonly used in hospitality and large-scale construction projects.
