Job summary

GMP Technologies in Singapore is seeking a skilled Technical Manager (Civil Construction) to lead the technical aspects of infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with design and engineering standards, and obtaining necessary permits.

The role requires coordinating design development with architects, structural, electrical, and mechanical teams, reviewing drawings for accuracy, and guiding site teams to resolve issues while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil & Structural Engineering (PE Board recognized)
• 8–10 years of relevant construction industry experience
• Strong technical competence and excellent time management
• Independent, results‑driven team player with good communication

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical aspects of infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with design and engineering standards.
• Identify design errors and drawing inconsistencies during site inspections and meetings.
• Coordinate interfacing design and construction works with consultants, subcontractors, and clients to meet project requirements.
• Liaise with Employer's Consultants and QSS teams to resolve technical issues.
• Oversee design development and address project risks to ensure smooth execution.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards.
• Conduct technical audits and inspections as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical aspects of infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with design and engineering standards. Obtaining necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities
• Participate in meetings, perform site inspections to monitor work progress, and identify design errors and drawing inconsistencies
• Provide technical support and solutions to site teams and resolve design-related issues
• Coordinating interfacing design and construction works with consultants (in-house & Client's), subcontractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met
• Liaising with the Employer's Consultants and QSS teams to resolve technical issues
• Coordinating designs with relevant department person-in-charge to ensure consistency across different disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical
• Oversee the design development process and address any project risks to ensure smooth execution
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards.
• Conduct technical audits and inspections as required.
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior(s)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil & Structural Engineering (Certificates must be recognized by PE Board)
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in technical roles within the construction industry
• Demonstrates strong technical competence and excellent time management skills
• Independent, resulted-oriented and self-driven team player
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
