Job summary

Percept Solutions seeks a Technical Lead to drive architecture, development and delivery of an enterprise digital platform. You will lead engineering teams, modernise applications and deliver secure, scalable cloud-native solutions using Java, React or Angular, and Microsoft Azure.

You will define platform architecture, lead shared services, and oversee CI/CD with Kubernetes, Docker and GitLab while mentoring engineers and coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture or platform development.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams delivering enterprise-scale platforms or mission-critical systems.
• Strong hands-on Java development with REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems.
• Full-stack development experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript and React or Angular.
• Experience with TypeScript/Node.js for backend services.
• Hands-on Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience delivering modernization, migration and integration in Agile environments.
• Experience with APIs and messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Kafka.
• Knowledge of secure software development, identity and access management, SSO, RBAC, TLS, certificate management and secrets management using Azure Key Vault.
• Experience with automated testing, monitoring, logging and observability.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams while providing hands-on technical leadership and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain platform architecture, technical standards and the technology roadmap.
• Lead the development of shared platform services, including authentication, SSO, RBAC, administration, workflows and notifications.
• Provide technical direction across delivery squads, ensuring solution consistency, security, scalability and maintainability.
• Assess existing applications and develop modernisation and migration strategies, including integration, cutover and data integrity planning.
• Lead solution design and hands-on development of full-stack applications, backend services, REST APIs and microservices.
• Review architecture, code and technical deliverables to ensure quality and compliance with engineering standards.
• Design API integrations, messaging solutions and event-driven architectures connecting applications and external systems.
• Oversee Azure environments, container deployments and CI/CD pipelines using Kubernetes, Docker and GitLab.
• Drive DevSecOps, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, logging and observability practices.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve platform reliability and delivery efficiency.
• Collaborate with product, design, data and AI teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers, manage technical risks and coordinate with stakeholders, vendors and implementation partners.

Requirements:

• Full-stack development experience using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript or TypeScript, and React or Angular.
• Experience developing backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience delivering application modernisation, migration and integration initiatives in Agile environments.
• Experience with API integration and messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Kafka or equivalent technologies.
• Good understanding of databases, data integration and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of secure software development, identity and access management, SSO, RBAC, TLS, certificate management and secrets management using tools such as Azure Key Vault.
• Experience implementing automated testing, monitoring, logging and observability.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams while providing hands-on technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
• Experience with public sector systems, workflow engines, analytics platforms or AI-enabled applications is an advantage.
