Job summary

AbbVie Singapore invites applicants for the Attach & Train Programme, a 15‑month on‑the‑job training track within the Technical Centre. Trainees will support biologics manufacturing processes, monitor operations, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement under supervision.

Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents and hold a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or fresh graduates welcome to apply.
  • Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements in biopharma manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and identify critical information.
  • Ability to research scientific topics independently and apply problem-solving approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for ongoing biologics manufacturing operations and improvement initiatives.
  • Initiate, develop and execute process improvements.
  • Serve as a supporting technical SME and assist with manufacturing support activities.
  • Support technology transfers for clinical and commercial manufacturing.
  • Address and resolve technical problems, including troubleshooting and investigations.
  • Perform standard data analysis and identify critical data for manufacturing processes under supervision.
  • Assist with continuous improvement activities and documentation (reports, SOPs).
  • Author batch records, investigations, protocols and risk assessments as required.

Job Description

The Attach & Train Programme is a structured talent development programme designed to build skilled talent for Singapore’s advanced biomedical manufacturing sector through practical, industry-based training that develops the technical skills and capabilities needed to support the industry’s current and future workforce needs.

As a Technical Engineer Trainee, your development will take place through a 15-month structured on-the-job training programme within our Technical Centre team. You will work alongside experienced professionals to provide technical support for biologics manufacturing processes, contributing to process monitoring, troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Due to the nature of the programme and its eligibility requirements, applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.

What You'll Do
  • Provide technical support for ongoing biologics manufacturing operations and improvement initiatives.
  • Initiate, develop and execute process improvements.
  • Serve as a supporting technical subject matter expert andassistwith manufacturing support activities.
  • Support technology transfers for clinical andcommercial manufacturing.
  • Address and resolve technical problems under supervision, including troubleshooting and investigation activities involving multidisciplinary issues.
  • Perform standard data analysis andidentifycritical data for manufacturing processes and operations under supervision.
  • Assistwith continuous improvement activities.
  • Writetechnical reports and support the consistency and quality of technical documentation.
  • Author batch records, SOPs, investigations, process impact assessments,protocolsand risk assessments asrequired.

  • A foundation in scientific and engineering principles, with the ability to apply them to assigned tasks within established procedures.
  • An analytical mindset, including familiarity with routine statistical methods and the ability to interpret experimental data andidentifycritical information.
  • The ability to research scientific topics independently, evaluate problems of varyingscopeand exercise sound judgment when selectingappropriate methodsand techniques.
  • A proactive approach to supporting the design and implementation of improvements to routine procedures.
