Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Tech Lead Machine Learning Engineer for Multimodal/LLM in Trust and Safety. You will own core system modules, architect end-to-end ML pipelines, and guide a small team to deploy production-ready models across video, image, text, and audio moderation.

You will apply CV/NLP/LLM techniques to real-world safety challenges and collaborate with policy and product partners. The role emphasizes strong ownership, architecture design, and hands-on leadership to drive impactful safety

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, ML, AI or related field.
• 4+ years hands-on ML system development experience.
• Experience leading small technical teams or driving ML modules end-to-end.
• Experience deploying large-scale ML models to production environments.
• Strong expertise in CV/NLP/LLM and multimodal modelling.
• Solid understanding of training, fine-tuning, evaluation and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of a core system module within a content safety vertical.
• Lead ML engineers to deliver production-ready solutions with strong technical rigor.
• Architect and implement end-to-end ML pipelines: data processing, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring.
• Apply advanced CV/NLP/LLM techniques to multimodal moderation challenges.
• Improve model performance via data analysis, feature engineering and experimentation.
• Collaborate with product, policy and operations to align technical solutions with safety requirements.
