Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Tech Lead Backend Engineer for the Trust and Safety Platform to shape scalable systems that protect the health and safety of the platform ecosystem.

You will lead platform-side development across content understanding, risk identification, and automated enforcement, while guiding a cross-functional team. This role emphasizes architecture, roadmaps, and team growth in a fast-paced global tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform-side development for systems and product capabilities related to community safety across TikTok, including but not limited to content understanding, risk identification, policy/strategy generation, automated enforcement, and operational efficiency. Collaborate closely with product, algorithm, and other cross-functional teams, develop a deep understanding of community safety and content moderation scenarios, and continuously improve related systems and capabilities.
• Own the team’s technical planning and roadmap, and continuously drive incremental value across areas such as technical architecture, business impact, product development and operational efficiency, service quality, and system stability.
• Own team goal setting and project execution, while supporting the development, coaching, and growth of team members.
