Job summary

Huawei in Singapore seeks a Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support across commercial, regulatory, compliance, and corporate matters. You will draft and negotiate contracts, advise on regulatory compliance, manage disputes, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel across Singapore and the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB/JD) or equivalent with 5–7 years post-qualification experience.
• Qualified to practise in Singapore or another common law jurisdiction; China qualification considered depending on needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Mandarin proficiency required for collaboration with Mandarin-speaking teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and draft legal documents and participate in negotiations.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to implement local legal policies and provide business support.
• Advise on compliant and ethical marketing, operations, promotions, IP, trade secrets and confidentiality.
• Provide guidance on applicable laws including Singapore regulations and regional requirements.
• Coordinate with authorities and regulators in Singapore and other countries of operation.
• Manage disputes and litigation, and supervise external counsel and related costs.
• Deliver legal updates and training to management and business units.
• Handle ad hoc matters as they arise.
