Job summary

The role requires Mandarin and English fluency, with experience in ICT/telecom sectors valued. You will advise on marketing compliance, IP protection, data privacy, and cybersecurity, liaising with regulators and external counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB/JD) or equivalent legal qualification.
• Post-qualification experience as legal counsel (5–7 years).
• Experience in ICT/tech/telecom industries is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to communicate bilingually in Mandarin and English.
• Strong stakeholder management and project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Review and draft legal documents related to the Company's business, including negotiations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review and draft legal documents related to the business of the Company, as well as participating in negotiations.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide support to the Company’s business, including the formulation and implementation of local legal policies.
• Advise internal stakeholders on matters such as compliant and ethical marketing, operation and promotion of the business, including competition and protection of intellectual property, trade secrets and confidential information.
• Provide support and advice on applicable laws and regulations to ensure the Company operates within statutory and regulatory requirements, including the Resource Sustainability Act, Personal Data Protection Act and Cybersecurity Act.
• Liaise with authorities/regulators and business units on regulatory matters in Singapore and relevant countries where the business operates.
• Dispute and litigation management.
• Provide legal updates and training to management teams and relevant business units.
• Management of external counsel and related expenses.
• Handle ad hoc matters from time to time.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB/JD) or equivalent legal qualification, with at least 5–7 years of post-qualification experience as legal counsel. Experience in the ICT, technology, telecommunications, or related industries will be an advantage.
• Qualified to practise law in Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, or another common law jurisdiction. Candidates qualified to practise law in the People's Republic of China may also be considered, depending on relevant experience and business needs.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and lead complex legal matters and projects through to successful completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Ability to communicate bilingually in Mandarin and English is essential in order to liaise with Chinese speaking head office, stakeholders, counterparts and customers.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels across different markets and functions.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently while maintaining a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution.
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality results within established timelines.
