Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its regional team based in Singapore. The role covers commercial contracts, corporate transactions, compliance and cross-border matters across Asia, with exposure to multiple markets.

You will draft and negotiate agreements, support due diligence, advise on data protection and governance, and collaborate with business stakeholders and external counsel to deliver practical, business-focused legal guidance.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with 4–6 years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience in commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation.
• Exposure to corporate transactions, joint ventures, technology contracts, licensing, data protection or commercial leasing.
• Regional or cross-border legal experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements.
• Provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on day-to-day commercial matters.
• Develop, review and maintain standard contract templates and legal documentation.
• Support corporate transactions, including due diligence and post-completion activities.
• Provide legal support on joint ventures, corporate restructuring and governance matters.
• Review and advise on commercial property and retail leasing arrangements.
• Support technology-related contracts, including IT procurement, SaaS and licensing agreements.
• Provide support on data protection and privacy matters across regional markets.
• Advise on employment-related legal matters and associated risks.
• Review and update internal policies to support legal and regulatory requirements.

The role offers broad exposure to commercial, corporate and operational legal matters across multiple Asian markets. You will work closely with senior legal counsel and business stakeholders, providing practical legal support across a range of regional activities and transactions.

• Provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on day-to-day commercial and operational matters.
• Develop, review and maintain standard contract templates and legal documentation.

• Provide legal support on joint ventures, corporate restructuring and governance matters.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 4-6 years of post-qualification experience gained in private practice, in-house or a combination of both.
• Qualified to practise law in Singapore, Malaysia or Hong Kong.
• Strong experience in commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation.
• Exposure to corporate transactions, joint ventures, technology contracts, licensing, data protection or commercial leasing.
• Regional or cross-border legal experience would be advantageous.
• Experience within retail, FMCG, consumer, distribution or other commercial environments would be advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Mandarin proficiency would be advantageous where required for collaboration with regional stakeholders and documentation relating to Greater China markets.
• Able to work independently while maintaining effective communication with senior legal and business stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to provide practical and business-focused legal advice.
