Our client is an established Singapore-headquartered organization within the industrial and engineering sector. We are currently seeking an experienced legal counsel to join the Singapore team and provide legal support across a broad range of commercial, operational and corporate matters.
In this role, you will provide legal support to the business across a broad range of commercial and operational matters, with a particular focus on drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex agreements with customers and vendors. This will include but not limited to cooperation, procurement, service, non-disclosure and HR/employment.
You will assess legal and contractual risks and provide practical, commercially focused advice to support business decisions. You will manage disputes and litigation matters, including developing appropriate strategies and overseeing relevant legal documentation, while coordinating with external and overseas counsel as required. The role will also cover insurance matters, corporate governance and corporate secretarial responsibilities, as well as keeping abreast of legal and regulatory developments and advising stakeholders on their potential impact on the business
You should be a qualified lawyer with approximately 7-9 years’ PQE ideally admitted to the Singapore Bar or another common law jurisdiction. You should have solid corporate and commercial legal experience, with strong expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation. Prior experience in a comparable in-house environment would be advantageous.
You should possess strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, sound professional judgement and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, including the ability to work effectively with senior management, internal business teams and external counsel.
