Job summary

The Vessel Operator at ROYAL OCEAN MARINE ENTERPRISE PTE. LTD. manages commercial and post-fixture voyage operations for tanker vessels, ensuring safe, cost-efficient execution in line with Charter Party terms and international regulations.

Responsibilities include issuing clear voyage instructions, monitoring movements, coordinating loading, and handling shipping documentation, while maintaining compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM/ISPS, SIRE, and vetting standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of tanker commercial operations or relevant sea-going deck experience.
• Strong knowledge of Charter Party agreements (Spot and Time Charter) and laytime.
• Proficiency in maritime software IMOS and Veson Voyage Management, plus MS Office.
• Effective communication, analytical problem-solving, and time-management under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Issue voyage instructions to Masters and agents to ensure Charter Party compliance and efficiency.
• Monitor vessel movements, speed, and fuel use to control costs and performance.
• Coordinate loading/discharge, review plans to optimize turnaround and cargo safety.
• Serve as operational liaison among Masters, Charterers, Brokers, Agents, Terminals, and Bunker Suppliers.
• Appoint port agents and arrange husbandry services for port calls and cargo ops.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents including Bills of Lading, NOR, SoF, and Letters of Indemnity.
• Plan bunker procurement across voyages to balance cost and fuel reserves.
• Calculate laytime and process demurrage/dispatch claims to protect commercial interests.
• Collaborate with legal teams to handle cargo claims and disputes.
• Ensure operations comply with MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM, ISPS, SIRE, and Port State Control.
