Job summary

Hai Soon Diesel & Trading Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to manage technical operations for a fleet of tankers. You will oversee maintenance, surveys, and docking, while controlling budgets and ensuring compliance with ISM/ISPS/MLC.

You will lead safety-focused technical teams, coordinate inspections with Classification Societies and suppliers, and mentor officers, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Sea-going work experience as Marine Engineer on tankers.
• MOT Engineer Certification Class 1 or 2 preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in technical superintendent or similar role.
• Experience with Planned Maintenance System.
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to travel on short notice.
• Independent and resourceful; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support Senior Technical Manager to manage technical operations of a fleet of tankers.
• Oversee daily maintenance and repair, survey schedules and docking.
• Manage budgets and cost control for maintenance, repairs, stores, modifications, and dry docking while ensuring compliance with ISM/ISPS/MLC.
• Update class status records; liaise with Classification Societies, suppliers and contractors.
• Coordinate vessel inspections for oil majors, TMSA and statutory surveys.
• Incident/Accident investigation and reporting.
• Lead and coach senior officers on safety, technical, cost and leadership.
• Conduct crew appraisals and brief on policies and procedures.
