THE POSITION
The TA Marketing Head leads the translation and execution of the ROPU Therapeutic Area (TA) and brand strategy in alignment with the global TA strategy and within the framework of Integrated Brand Planning. This role is critical in achieving growth and profitability targets across the ASKAN region.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Strategy Development
- Translate global TA strategy into actionable ROPU plans.
- Develop and execute ROPU brand and TA strategies within the Integrated Brand Planning framework.
- Influence global TA/brand strategy development by providing ASKAN-specific market, competitor, and customer insights.
Driving Business Results
Business Planning
- Contribute to the Long-Term Forecast (LTF) and Outlook processes by providing sales and investment planning for assigned brands/TAs.
- Develop LTF proposals covering Sales, Direct Promotion, and Field Force FTEs.
Performance Management
- Drive TA/brand performance in line with ROPU objectives.
- Ensure achievement of sales, market share, and profitability targets.
Process & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Integrated Brand Planning
- Lead IBP development by TA.
- Define TA and brand Critical Success Factors (CSFs).
- Develop and monitor ROPU Operational Plans and TA/brand KPIs.
- Guide OPU brand teams and actively contribute to the development and review of OPU brand operating plans.
Operational Execution
- Ensure effective implementation of OPU operational plans.
- Collaborate with TA/brand teams to execute ROPU customer engagement plans (e.g., advisory boards, symposia, KOL development).
- Lead medico-marketing initiatives to maximize customer engagement and support OPU executional excellence.
- Conduct high-quality brand reviews and provide strategic solutions across Global/ROPU/OPU levels.
Launch Readiness
- Lead launch readiness processes to meet key milestones.
- Ensure team preparedness for product launches in terms of product, market, and organizational readiness.
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Market Access for successful launch execution.
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Organize and lead cross-functional brand team interactions.
- Maintain strong collaboration with OPU marketing teams to drive growth.
- Ensure alignment of OPU marketing activities with ROPU goals and priorities.
- Provide regular updates to OPUs on market performance, strategy, and competitive landscape.
- Interface with Corporate Marketing TA teams to represent ROPU ASKAN in global initiatives.
- Ensure ROPU strategies align with global directions and leverage global resources effectively.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Manage allocated TA Direct Promotion (DP) budget.
- Collaborate with Commercial Operations to deliver monthly performance updates and KPI reporting.
- Monitor market share trends and proactively address issues with HPLC, proposing solutions and countermeasures.
- Communicate key updates to HPLC to support informed decision-making.
- Define market research needs to generate actionable insights on market, customer, and competitors.
Support to GTM Transformation
- Drive Go-To-Market (GTM) transformation and adoption of platforms and processes to enhance customer-centric engagement.
People Leadership
Development & Talent Management
- Develop expertise and competencies of direct reports through coaching and feedback.
- Set clear goals and objectives for the team.
- Oversee performance and talent management across ROPU and OPU levels.
Leadership & Supervision
- Ensure compliance with Performance Management, Talent Management, and Compensation Planning timelines.
- Implement development plans for direct reports and monitor progress.
- Identify and support talent through succession planning and cross-validation.
- Provide coaching during MAG discussions and other key performance checkpoints.
- Ensure adequate staffing and talent movement within the team.
- Manage team members within the TA through solid or dotted line reporting structures.
Projects & Special Assignments
- Lead or support projects and objectives that align with strategic goals or serve developmental purposes.
About our future employee
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) in Business Administration, Pharmaceutics, or related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of pharmaceutical marketing and sales experience within CRM-related therapeutic areas such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, or type 2 diabetes.
- At least 3 years of people management experience.
- Proven track record of success in similar roles.
