Job summary

Tardis Group in Singapore seeks a hands-on Systems Engineer to design, build and support high-performance Linux servers across global datacenters. You will automate and tune systems to meet the demands of a low-latency trading platform, collaborating with engineers and external vendors.

You will analyse issues, deploy packages, optimise latency, and contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy while balancing production support with strategic projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Years of experience in Linux/Unix systems administration.
• Experience with Linux kernel tuning.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and topology.
• Scripting ability in Python.
• Experience with Kickstart, Ansible and Git.
• Experience with BIOS configuration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive and well organised.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with production support.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, diagnose and resolve complex Linux-based server issues.
• Create, test, deploy and maintain packages, batch files and scripts.
• Identify opportunities to optimise infrastructure and reduce latency.
• Manage infrastructure configuration, changes and deployment requests.
• Work with internal teams and vendors to deliver technical solutions.
• Contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy and capacity planning.
• Support reliability and performance of production infrastructure.
• Balance daily production with longer-term projects.
