Position Overview
The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the onboarding, implementation, and operation of solutions on the Group IT harmonized platform. The role works closely with project teams, architects, cybersecurity teams, and infrastructure engineers to onboard endpoints, servers, applications, DevSecOps workloads, and AI solutions while ensuring compliance with Group IT architecture, security, and governance standards.
The candidate will participate in solution assessment, platform onboarding, operational support, cloud infrastructure deployment, and AI enablement initiatives across both on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Solutioning & Platform Onboarding
- Support the onboarding of endpoints, servers, applications, and DevSecOps workloads onto the Group IT platform.
- Assist project teams in evaluating business and technical requirements and recommending suitable infrastructure, platform, and cloud services.
- Participate in solution design discussions, architecture reviews, and onboarding assessments.
- Support integration of applications and infrastructure with enterprise services and shared platforms.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
Infrastructure & Operations
- Manage vendors and work with or support operations team to perform operational work as stated below.
- Provision, configure, administer, and maintain infrastructure services across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Support Windows and Linux servers, endpoint platforms, virtualization technologies, and cloud services.
- Monitor system health, availability, performance, and capacity to ensure reliable service delivery.
- Troubleshoot incidents, service requests, and operational issues, and perform root cause analysis where required.
- Support patch management, system upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and technology refresh initiatives.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, architecture, and operational standards.
- Support implementation of security controls, monitoring, logging, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management measures.
- Assist in security reviews, audits, and risk assessments.
- Support remediation of identified security and operational risks.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve platform onboarding processes, operational workflows, and service delivery.
- Leverage approved AI, automation, and digital tools to reduce manual effort, improve productivity, and enhance engineering and operational capabilities.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, standardization, and process improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with project teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to facilitate successful delivery of solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and operational support throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Support user onboarding and adoption of enterprise platform services.
Job Requirements
- 0-3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud engineering, platform operations, or related technology fields.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of endpoint, server, virtualization, and networking technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Basic understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and software delivery practices.
- Experience with creating AI agents for automation and self-healing systems and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash is advantageous.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, IT governance, and operational best practices.
- Exposure to virtualization, containerization, and cloud-native technologies.
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar collaboration platforms.
- Knowledge of endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune or equivalent tools.
- Experience with automation, infrastructure-as-code, or AI-assisted productivity tools is an advantage.
