Job summary

AMSPEC TESTING SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks a field inspector to coordinate daily inspections, sample collection, and cargo measurements. You will work with the Scheduler, attend trainings, and ensure safety and accuracy in all tasks.

The role requires at least O Level or NITEC and a minimum of two years in testing and inspection, preferably oil & gas. You must be physically fit, able to work outdoors, and flexible to evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in testing & inspection, preferably oil & gas.
• Good knowledge of refinery operations related to inspections.
• Basic math comprehension with fractions.
• Physically fit for outdoor work, heights, and carrying samples.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Scheduler to receive and confirm daily job assignments.
• Report to the office as instructed by Scheduler or management when required.
• Attend and participate in mandatory training, competency assessments, and safety briefings.
• Follow instructions from senior or supervisor to ensure safe and accurate work.
• Understand the scope, objectives and requirements of each inspection before starting work.
• Conduct sampling of liquid and gas cargoes per company procedures and client requirements.
• Perform loading, discharging, and ship-to-ship inspections under supervision of a senior.
• Inspect shore tanks, ship tanks, and gas tanks per procedures and safety rules.
• Measure tanks and calculate cargo volumes and weights using industry standards.
• Complete field reports and documentation promptly after assignments.
• Maintain communication with Scheduler and stakeholders while on duty or standby.
• Comply with company policies, HSEQ and industry regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information and inspection results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Scheduler to receive and confirm daily job assignments.
• Report to the office as instructed by the Scheduler or management whenever required.
• Attend and actively participate in all mandatory training, competency assessments, andsafety briefings conducted by the Company.
• Follow instructions and guidance provided by the senior or assigned supervisor toensure work is performed safely and accurately.
• Understand the scope, objectives, and requirements of each assigned inspection or surveybefore commencing work.
• Conduct representative sampling of liquid and gas cargoes in accordance with Companyprocedures, client requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Perform loading, discharging, and ship-to-ship (STS) transfer inspections under thesupervision of a qualified senior.
• Carry out inspections of shore tanks, ship tanks, and gas tanks under supervision,ensuring compliance with established procedures and safety requirements.
• Measure shore tanks and ship tanks, and calculate cargo volumes and weights usingapproved industry standards and calculation methods.
• Accurately complete field reports, inspection records, and supporting documentation, andsubmit them promptly upon completion of each assignment.
• Maintain effective communication with the Scheduler, seniors, and relevant stakeholders,and remain contactable while on duty or on standby.
• Comply with all Company policies, HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality)requirements, and applicable industry regulations while performing assignedduties.
• Maintain the confidentiality of client information and inspection results.
• Performany other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Company from time to time.

Requirements

• At least O Level or NITEC.
• Minimum 2 years work experience in the testing & inspection industry, preferablyoil & gas and chemical.
• Good understanding & knowledge of refinery operations relating to inspectionsactivities.
• Basic math comprehension with an aptitude for fractions.
• Depend able and reliable whose daily presence adds to the success of the Department.
• Physically fit for working outdoors in all weather conditions, working at height and carryweight such as samples, gear and equipment.
• Must be able to differentiate between colors accurately by sight.
• Must have flexible schedule as position will include evenings, weekend and holidayswork based on customers’ needs.
• High tolerance for job pressure and extended hours.
