Job summary

Young Men's Christian Association of Singapore is seeking a Centre Preschool Coordinator to help the Cluster Supervisor ensure smooth centre operations and meet enrolment and profit targets. The role involves delivering a safe, conducive environment for preschool children and stepping in for teaching when needed.

The candidate should hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education with at least 3 years of preschool experience, be dedicated, and possess strong communication and PC skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education is required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a preschool setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• PC literacy is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist to plan and implement the weekly schedule and programmes for preschool children in line with Kindergarten Care guide.
• Observe lessons in classrooms and provide feedback on pedagogy and delivery to Programme Staff.
• Assist to plan holiday field trips and ad-hoc activities.
• Plan and manage staff scheduling to maintain staff-to-child ratio at all times.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of furniture, fittings, equipment and play resources.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders on menus, teaching resources, surveys and contingency plans.
• Assist with financial reporting, receipts and expenses.
• Support staff management and child-parent matters.
• Ensure the Centre premises are clean, hygienic and well-maintained at all times.
• Guarantee safety and well-being of every child.
• Maintain a safe, learning-focused, and fun atmosphere aligned with YMCA philosophy.
• Perform classroom teaching duties when Programme staff are absent.

Job Summary:

You will assist the Cluster Supervisor to ensure the smooth operations of the Centre, and in meeting the student enrolment targets and profit goals. You will ensure that a safe and conducive environment is provided for the preschool children.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist to plan and implement the weekly schedule and programme(s) for preschool children in accordance with the Kindergarten Care guide.
• Observe lessons being conducted in the classrooms and provide necessary feedback to Programme Staff on pedagogy and lesson delivery.
• Assist to plan holiday field trip and ad-hoc activities.
• Assist to plan and manage the staff scheduling, to ensure ratio of staff to child is maintained at all times, including transition periods.
• Ensure the proper use and maintenance of all furniture, furnishings, fittings, equipment and play resources.
• Work with external stakeholders on menu plans, teaching resources, survey evaluation results and make contingency plans.
• Assist with financial reporting, receipts and expenses.
• Assist with staff management and child-parent matters.
• Ensure that the Centre Premises is clean, hygienic and well-maintained at all times.
• Ensure the safety and good well-being of each individual child.
• Maintain an appropriate atmosphere of safety, learning, and fun, in line with YMCA’s philosophy.
• Perform classroom-teaching duties during the absence of Programme staff.
