Job summary

AP Media PTE. LTD. is seeking a Virtual Production Camera Technician to set up, operate, and maintain studio and virtual production equipment, ensuring production readiness and reliable performance.

You will troubleshoot imaging systems, update firmware, and design camera signal flows for both physical and virtual environments, while adhering to safety standards and collaborating with the production team.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating studio and virtual production equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot cameras and imaging equipment and report findings clearly.
• Experience updating firmware and software across devices.
• Knowledge of HD-SDI, DisplayPort/HDMI, RAW workflows, and color metadata.
• Ability to read and design camera and signal-flow diagrams.
• Familiarity with safe operation standards in studio environments.
• Strong communication with production teams.

Job Description:

• Set up, configure, operate, and performpreventive maintenance on all studio and virtual production equipment,including cameras, LED/VP processing units, tracking systems, video routers,and AV infrastructure, ensuring every system is production-ready andfunctioning reliably.
• Troubleshoot camera and imagingequipment and provide clear technical reports to the Studio Manager andmanufacturers to support timely issue resolution and minimise downtime.
• Maintain system performance by updatingfirmware and software across all devices and ensuring compatibility withreal-time production workflows.
• Ensure that all technical equipmentmeets operational and safety standards, with minimal disruption to studioactivities and production schedules.
• Read, interpret, and design camera andsignal-flow diagrams, supporting clear and efficient routing for both physicaland virtual production environments.
• Manage and route video signals,including split camera feeds, genlock, timecode, and data lines, ensuringsynchronised and stable connections during shoots.
• Apply strong knowledge of professionalvideo standards, including HD-SDI, DisplayPort, HDMI, RAW workflows, colourmetadata, and data-wrangling practices used in virtual production and broadcastpipelines.
• Maintain and support Virtual Productionsystems, including tracking objects, markers, cabling, power management, andfull AV signal flow across the LED volume.
• Assist the camera crew with calibrationworkflows, including lens calibration, spatial calibration, and mounting ofvirtual production tracking hardware on set.
• Troubleshoot video feeds, trackingstability, and calibration issues in collaboration with the Virtual Productionteam to maintain accurate real-time rendering and scene playback.
• Communicate changeover updates, cameraconfiguration changes, and system status to the Virtual Production team toensure smooth transitions and operational clarity.
• Continuously develop skills and stayupdated on new technologies, maintaining a forward-thinking and adaptableapproach to evolving industry tools and workflows.
• Proficient in video editing, supportingquick reviews, technical tests, and content preparation when required.
