Job summary

Centre of New Life Schoolhouse Ltd. in Singapore invites applications for a full-time tutor/teacher to plan and deliver lessons and supervise daily homework.

You will conduct spelling practice for English and Mother Tongue, monitor students’ progress, and communicate with parents. MOE syllabus familiarity and passion for teaching young children are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma / WSQ Student-Care Certified.
• Familiar with MOE syllabus or prior tutor/teacher experience.
• Able to communicate effectively in English and another mother tongue.
• Capable of coaching primary school level subjects.
• Outgoing personality with good work ethics.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons.
• Coach, supervise and ensure completion of daily school homework.
• Conduct spelling practice for English and Mother tongue.
• Ensure safe and timely transfer of students from school to centre, including pick-ups.
• Monitor and track progress of students.
• Provide regular updates to parents/guardians on progress and behaviour.
• Mark students' work.
• Perform administrative duties and upkeep of centre premises.
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned by Centre Supervisor.

Job description

Main Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver lessons

• Conduct practices and tests for spelling (English and Mother tongue)
• Ensure safe and timely transfer of students from school to student centre, including pick-ups from nearby schools
• Monitor and track the progress of students
• Engage and provide regular update to parents and/or guardians on students' progress and behaviour
• Mark students' work
• Perform administrative duties and ensure upkeep of centre premises
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Centre Supervisor

Academic Requirements:

• Diploma / WSQ Student-Care Certified
• Familiar with MOE syllabus or have prior working experience as a tutor/teacher
• Able to communicate effectively in English and one other mother tongue language
• Able to coach primary school level academic subjects
• Passionate and enjoy working with young children
• Outgoing personality and pleasant disposition
• Possess excellent work ethics and integrity

Working Hours:

Full Time - Monday to Friday (11am to 8pm during school term; 8.5hrs+30mins lunch break shift work 7am-8pm during MOE school holidays & Home-Based Learning Days)
