EM GENERAL INSURANCE AGENCY is seeking Student Advisers to help students understand general insurance needs, explain coverage, and assist in informed decisions about protecting themselves and their belongings.

This entry-level role welcomes students and fresh graduates and offers structured training, mentorship, and opportunities to build advisory, sales, and client relationship skills within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• O level, A level, Diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification; students and fresh graduates are welcome.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and responsibility.
• Interest in insurance, customer service, sales, or business development.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Insurance qualifications or experience are an advantage but training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Client Advisory & Education: Understand clients' needs and introduce relevant general insurance solutions.
• Business Development: Identify potential clients via networking, referrals, campus outreach, and other approved channels.
• Customer Service & Policy Support: Assist clients with quotations, policy applications, renewals, and general enquiries.
• Professional Development: Participate in product training, sales coaching, and development programmes.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure client information and policy documents are handled accurately and confidentially.

Job description

We are looking for motivated, responsible, and service-oriented individuals to join our team as Student Advisers. In this role, you will help students and young adults understand their general insurance needs, provide suitable insurance information, and support them in making informed decisions about protecting themselves, their belongings, and their future.

This position is suitable for students, fresh graduates, and individuals who are interested in building a career in insurance, financial services, customer relationship management, and business development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Advisory & Education

   - Understand clients' needs and introduce relevant general insurance solutions.

   - Explain insurance coverage, policy benefits, exclusions, and claims procedures in simple terms.

   - Educate students and young adults on the importance of personal protection and risk management.

2. Business Development

   - Identify potential clients through networking, referrals, campus outreach, and other approved channels.

   - Build and maintain relationships with students, young professionals, families, and other customer groups.

   - Support marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and customer engagement initiatives.

3. Customer Service & Policy Support

   - Assist clients with insurance quotations, policy applications, renewals, and general enquiries.

   - Provide administrative support for policy servicing and claims submissions.

   - Follow up with clients to ensure a positive customer experience.

4. Professional Development

   - Participate in product training, sales coaching, and professional development programmes.

   - Keep up to date with general insurance products, industry developments, and applicable regulations.

   - Work towards individual performance targets and team objectives.

5. Compliance & Documentation

   - Ensure client information and policy documents are handled accurately and confidentially.

   - Follow company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.

   - Provide accurate information and recommend products only within the scope of authorised duties.
