Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in construction cost management.
• Proficient in cost estimation software and familiar with construction contracts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients.
• Be willing to attend upgrading courses.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary client service.
• Possess ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse cost estimates for construction projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate potential projects.
• Monitor and report on project finances including budgets, expenditures, and forecasts.
• Assist in procurement processes by drafting and reviewing tender documents.
• Validate invoices and assess claims for payment from contractors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to interpret project specifications and design changes.
• Identify and mitigate risks to costs.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and project documentation.
• Oversee project activities in the absence of the project manager.
• Achieve company targets through effective cost management.
• Provide advice on cost management strategies.
• Facilitate communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
