Job summary

SUPERIOR MULTI-PACKAGING LIMITED is seeking a diligent Purchaser in Singapore to manage daily purchasing, supplier sourcing, price comparisons, and negotiations to ensure timely deliveries. You will collaborate across departments to coordinate material requirements, maintain records, and ensure compliance with SOPs.

The role involves exposure to logistics, import/export documentation, and ERP-enabled processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma in SCM, Logistics, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in purchasing, shipping or logistics.
• Familiar with import/export documentation and procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination and organisational skills.
• Meticulous, proactive and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily purchasing activities and ensure timely deliveries.
• Source suppliers, obtain quotations, and prepare price comparisons.
• Analyses supplier pricing and monitor price movements.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
• Prepare purchase orders and follow up on outstanding deliveries.
• Assist in supplier contract administration and renewals.
• Monitor supplier performance and follow up on quality or delivery issues.
• Coordinate with internal departments on material requirements.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and prepare reports.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing SOPs and approval authority.
• Coordinate shipment arrangements with suppliers, freight forwarders, and transport providers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Monitor shipment status, ETA updates, and resolve logistics issues including delays, customs clearance, and transportation discrepancies.
• Verify shipping and import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Liaise with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to ensure smooth receiving of materials and minimise supply disruptions.
• Review freight costs and transportation quotations to support cost-effective logistics planning.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and provide timely updates on inbound shipment schedules to stakeholders.
