Job summary

APM Terminals is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to support investments and projects across Asia Pacific. You will provide practical legal advice through the project lifecycle, collaborating with regional and global teams on governance, risk and commercial strategy.

The role requires strong drafting and negotiation skills, experience with EPC/FIDIC contracts, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders while working across cultures and jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• A qualified lawyer in a recognised jurisdiction; common-law qualification is preferred.
• At least 8 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a multinational setting.
• Experience with major projects, infrastructure investments and international commercial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted legal advisor on infrastructure investments and project delivery across Asia Pacific.
• Advise on concessions, joint ventures, acquisitions and other strategic investments.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex project, construction and development agreements (EPC, FIDIC).
• Manage contract governance and supervise external counsel and budgets.
• Assess project delivery risks including delays, changes, performance security and claims.
• Engage with partners, contractors and authorities to safeguard commercial and legal interests.
• Influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across functions and jurisdictions.
