Job summary

Groundup.ai is seeking a commercially minded finance professional to own day-to-day finance operations and act as a strategic partner to the leadership team. You will run monthly close, controls, and reporting while building models to guide pricing, hiring, market expansion sequencing, and fundraising readiness.

The role sits at the intersection of hardware economics, SaaS unit economics, and services delivery, requiring hands-on execution and clear decision-grade insights for the C-suite.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in finance, accounting, audit, or FP&A with ownership of month-end close, management reporting, and financial analysis in operating companies.
• Experience with hardware devices/assets, SaaS or subscription models (ARR, deferred revenue, churn, pricing), or services/implementation delivery.
• Strong financial modelling skills (3-statement, driver-based) to support pricing, hiring, market expansion, and runway decisions.
• Solid understanding of SaaS unit economics and deal-level profitability.

Responsibilities

• Own budgeting, forecasting, and regular management reporting.
• Run month-end close with accuracy, discipline, and clear timelines.
• Manage AP/AR, collections cadence, vendor payments, staff claims, and reimbursements.
• Maintain financial controls, compliance processes, and audit readiness.
• Perform variance analysis across revenue, operating costs, inventory, and capital expenditure, with explanations of drivers.
• Support tax reporting and tax planning activities.
• Act as a finance business partner to leadership, translating operations into financial insight.
• Model and analyse hardware, SaaS, and services economics together (device cost, ARR, churn, margins).
• Identify value-creating customers, deals, or configurations and advise pricing and deal profitability.
