Job summary

Sentient is seeking a Strategic Finance and Operations professional to help scale our organization. You will partner with leaders in product, business development and operations to evaluate new initiatives, build financial plans, and ensure disciplined execution in a remote setting.

The role combines Strategic Finance, FP&A and operations support, with a focus on treasury workflows, partnerships, governance, and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in strategic finance, corporate development, venture finance, startup operations, or a related field.
• Strong financial modeling skills; advanced Excel/Google Sheets; Python or data science tools a plus.
• Deep interest in blockchain, AI, and financial products, including economics, tokenomics, risk management, and treasury operations.
• Proven ability to handle cross-functional challenges with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude in lean environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a quantitative field; CFA a plus.
• Attention to detail is a must.
• Background at an exchange is a plus.

Job description

We are seeking a Strategic Finance and Operations professional to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in scaling our operations.You'll collaborate cross-functionally with leadership in product, business development, and operations to evaluate new initiatives, manage financial planning, and ensure seamless execution.

Responsibilities

Strategic Finance: Build financial models for commercial partnerships, token economics, and new AI product initiatives. Prepare internal memos, board materials, and analyses to support strategic decision-making. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and propose optimizations for ecosystem growth.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Oversee outsourced accounting functions, maintain financial forecast models, assist in annual budgeting, and coordinate treasury operations across multi-signature wallets, on-chain accounts, and off-chain entities.

Operations & Foundation Support: Partner on entity structuring, capital flows, and payment processes with ecosystem partners. Manage fund disbursements, grants programs, and governance protocols for the Sentient Foundation. Identify and implement improvements to financial and operational systems to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Risk & Viability Assessment: Evaluate the financial viability and commercial risks of AI and blockchain products, including pricing strategies, deal structuring, and ecosystem economics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between Finance, Product, Business Operations, and Go-to-Market teams to solve complex problems and drive measurable outcomes.

Requirements

2–5 years of experience in strategic finance, corporate development, venture finance, startup operations, or a related field.

Strong financial modeling skills (advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency required; experience with Python or data science tools a plus).

Deep interest in and understanding of blockchain, AI, and financial products, including economics, tokenomics, risk management, and treasury operations.

Proven ability to handle novel, cross-functional challenges with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude, delivering results in lean, iterative environments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to juggle tactical execution and strategic thinking.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a quantitative field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
