Job summary

SPH Media is seeking a Manager (External Comms) to strengthen the organisation’s visibility, reputation, and engagement with key external stakeholders. Qualifications

• Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of external communications/public relations/media-facing experience.
• Strong understanding of Singapore’s media landscape and newsroom environments.
• Excellent command of English, written and spoken; second language a plus.
• Experience developing and executing communications and PR plans.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, and cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key point of contact for media queries, interviews, and story development.
• Prepare media invites, factsheets, releases, Q&As and statements to drive publicity.
• Monitor media coverage, sentiment trends, and emerging issues affecting reputation.
• Build relationships with media outlets and engage editors for positive coverage.
• Develop and implement external communications strategies supporting announcements and campaigns.
• Draft and oversee production of media materials, speeches, statements, and factsheets.
• Provide communications counsel to internal stakeholders for coherent messaging.
• Support crisis communications development and rapid-response during high-impact situations.
