Job summary

Duke-NUS Medical School is seeking a senior fundraising leader to oversee the entire development spectrum and drive sustainable philanthropic income. You will shape fundraising strategies, lead a team, and cultivate a high-value donor base to support the School’s mission of Transforming Medicine and Improving Lives.

The role requires extensive fundraising experience, strategic thinking, and the ability to engage senior stakeholders across healthcare and education sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, marketing or related discipline.
• 10–12 years in fundraising or business development with 8–10 years in leadership.
• Healthcare or higher education sector experience is advantageous.
• Proven fundraising track record and network of donors/HNW individuals.
• Strong strategic and creative planning ability.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Highly organized, numerate and detail-oriented.
• Ability to mentor team members and work under pressure with limited resources.
• Familiarity with philanthropic landscape in Singapore and region.

Responsibilities

• Achieve fundraising targets set by senior management.
• Lead development strategy and implement philanthropic plans.
• Guide team to deliver fundraising targets and donor stewardship.
• Oversee Donor Engagement, Events, Communications, Admin and Governance.
• Build sustained relationships with existing donors and expand the donor base.
• Identify and qualify new prospects for Major and Mid-Level Gifts (S$10,000+).
• Collaborate with Research, Education and Innovation offices to identify funding opportunities.
• Lead donor engagement to craft tailored proposals and appeal letters.
• Ensure compliance with gift administration, stewardship, and reporting policies.
• Provide timely updates to senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop communications that raise Duke-NUS’s visibility and impact.
