About the Role
CrowdStrike’s Strategic Advisory Services team assists our customers with a wide array of proactive engagements to help enhance security programs, educate employees, and develop tailored cyber initiatives. The Principal Consultant role is the leader on the ground. This role serves as the primary day‑to‑day lead for Strategic engagements, interacting with client leadership to ensure that projects run on time and to the highest standards. Principal Consultants also assist our Strategic leadership team with staffing, thought leadership, business development, and other “back of office” tasks.
What You’ll Do
- Lead large and complex strategic advisory service engagements, engaging with technical and executive-level individuals across a wide range of industry segments.
- Assess and develop cybersecurity and incident response programs to help mature the security posture of organizations prior to and following an incident.
- Develop scenarios that incorporate threat intelligence, to help customers exercise the full range of their response and recovery capabilities.
- Produce and ensure delivery of high-quality written and verbal reports, presentations, findings, and recommendations to customer management.
- Demonstrate industry thought leadership through blog posts and public speaking events.
- Identify and address emerging trends in cybersecurity, drawing on both government and private sector perspectives.
- Manage internal programs and teams.
- Engage in some degree of sales and business development opportunities.
- Support staffing and scheduling of strategic resources on upcoming engagements.
What You’ll Need
- At least 8‑15 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- IT / Security Management Consulting: leadership positions, ownership of relationships with organizational executives, experience with both technical and operational cyber security issues.
- Security Program Development: development, management, and implementation of a security program (e.g., SOC, CSIRT, Fusion Center).
- Security Analysis / Operations: leadership in SOCs, IR teams, or similar, with practitioner knowledge and ability to consolidate and communicate results to senior leaders.
- Business Strategy / Risk Analysis: experience helping organizations address cyber risks and applying risk frameworks.
- Cybersecurity Policy: development or enhancement of policies, plans, or playbooks that transition into practice.
- Public / Government Affairs: experience working with government organizations or entities that interact with governments on cyber security priorities.
Bonus Points
- Experience facilitating exercises in information technology incident management, cybersecurity incident management, or business resilience.
- Experience leading assessments or audits into an organization’s cybersecurity posture or maturity, and delivering professional reports to management, executive, or board stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in fast‑paced professional environments.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of customers and international team members.
- Capacity to complete complex tasks involving strategic analysis and development without supervision.
- Desire to grow and expand cyber aptitude, technical awareness, and soft skills.
- Strong project management skills, including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Consistent positive work environment and attitude.
- Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision‑making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.
- Ability to travel to engage with clients, up to 30% of the time, often on less than three weeks’ notice.
